Getting your Nutrients in Pregnancy

Happy belated New Year! And a happy start to February!

Incase you haven’t already guessed from the title, we’re becoming a family of three! Hence why I’ve been inactive for a while. Morning sickness wasn’t kind to me – although I am lucky it wasn’t worse – and I couldn’t keep anything down for a time. But thankfully that has subsided now and I only get sick on the odd days.

When I was really sick and felt like eating nothing, I found the best thing for me to eat, or drink, to get all the goodness I needed was a good soup or smoothie.

There’s nothing I love more than a good warm potato and leek soup, and although it wasn’t the one I usually have, I enjoyed it just as much. This one is by ‘The Pretty Blog’ and I found the recipe on Pinterest.

The fruits I love eating the most are: strawberries, bananas and grapes. So I combined them all to make my own yummy smoothie.

You’ll Need:

6 large strawberries

1 medium banana

A handful of grapes

1/2 tablespoon of orange juice

1 cup of milk

A handful of ice cubes

Simply blend all together in a blender.

(Or make your own, pick your favourite fruits and just follow the rest of the recipe!)

Another smoothie I didn’t get to try, but would be absolutely perfect for expectant mothers is a green smoothie by my favourite blogger ‘Healthy Cooking Mom’ –

These are great whether you’re expecting or not. Whether you have fussy eaters or just on a healthy diet. These recipes will be perfect for you!
