A Year in Review: 2016

As another year comes to a close, we are each left thinking about the past year and the various different adventures we’ve each had. 2016 has been a rollercoaster of up and downs, and everything else in between. But there have been many lessons taught to me this past year, and I will definitely take them into 2017.

This year I became a mother for the first time, and that in itself was a huge lesson. I have learnt more patience, self-love and respect. I learnt through being pregnant to love my body, because it was Chunks’ first home, and I can’t teach her to love herself if I don’t love myself first.

I have also learnt that we can outgrow people – and that’s okay. This year I’ve really seen who my true friends are, and I’ve let go of people who bring negativity into my life. From this I’ve also learnt to be grateful for the people – although few – I do have in my life.

Lastly I’ve learnt that’s it okay not to be okay. It’s okay to need some help. This year I’ve needed quite a bit of support in many different ways, and I will continue to in the years to come, but I have had the best people by my side constantly supporting me.

Overall 2016 has been a great year, and I can’t wait to see what awaits in 2017!

  1. It’s good to reflect from time to time, isn’t it? Otherwise, we can let life’s lesson go by unnoticed. I’ve had a really rough year, but I hope I can learn from it and move on next year. Thank you for the inspiring post.
