Turning ‘I Wish’ into ‘I Will’

Happy New Year! We have now officially closed the door to 2016, and have begun our journeys through 2017.

Now is the time we all start making resolutions for ‘a new year, new me.’ But fast forward a few months when life has taken over and you have forgotten all about those New Year resolutions and have not done a single thing you wanted to do… Sound familiar? Well, you’re certainly not alone. Year after year I make resolutions that I never give a second thought about after January has passed. But this year, I’m going to try something different instead. This year, instead of making resolutions about what I want to achieve in 2017, I’m going to make realistic, specific goals – break my big dreams into smaller parts, achieving them bit by bit.

This year for me is all about trying new things (which I can’t wait to share with you!) and losing weight. But I am looking at achieving these realistically – with the fantastic support of others too – rather than them being a resolution I will forget.

Remember that it is never too late to set another goal, or to dream a new dream.

I can’t wait to see what this year will bring. Have a fantastic 2017!

  1. I’m not usually one for setting resolutions, however last January I decided 2016 would be the year I improved my fitness. I started going to the gym regularly and I’ve managed to stick with it for over a year. I definitely think it’s possible to keep your New Year resolutions if you put your mind to it 🙂

  2. Love the idea of *not* making resolutions (since they never seem to stick). I really do like the “intentional” things to put on my plate for the year. This year…EXERCISE MORE!

  3. I am quite sad and love setting goals in general and planning the new year that way. I never forget my resolutions. I admit i never do them ALL, but usually set so many that I will at least do half and be happy with that. Look forward to hearing what the new year brings for you and many other bloggers! Have a fab year 🙂 x

  4. A good motto. And one I really should heed to myself. February now and I’m not really that focused yet. Still flying by the seat of my pants, which is ok in part, but not ideal.
